The Miami Heat are an American professional basketball team based in Miami. The Heat compete in the NBA as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Southeast Division. They play their home games at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami. Formed in 1988 as an expansion team, the Heat have won three league championships (in 2006, 2012 and 2013), five conference titles and thirteen division titles. In 2013, the Heat won twenty-seven regular season games in a row, the third-longest streak in NBA history.
